nexos.ai Emerges from Stealth to Launch AI Orchestration Platform for Enterprise

CEO and co-founder of nexos.ai Tomas Okmanas

QUICK TAKE

  • nexos.ai is an AI orchestration platform launched by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, co-founders of the $3bn cybersecurity unicorn Nord Security.
  • The explosion of large language models (LLMs) requires new infrastructure to help companies manage the performance and cost of AI applications at scale, which is holding back AI adoption.
  • nexos.ai solves this by enabling companies to effectively build and deploy enterprise-grade AI applications. The unified platform allows access to over 200 AI models with advanced security, performance optimization, and cost controls.
  • The company has raised $8m in funding led by Index Ventures, with participation from Creandum, Dig Ventures and a number of notable angels including Olivier Pomel (CEO of Datadog), Sebastian Siemiatkowski (CEO of Klarna), Ilkka Paananen (CEO of Supercell) and Avishai Abrahami (CEO of Wix.com).

INDEX PERSPECTIVE

By Hannah Seal and Bastian Hasslinger

Over the past two years, enterprises have run countless pilots, experimenting with large language models to explore how AI can transform their businesses. The next phase of enterprise AI will be defined by a shift from experimentation to scaled deployment in production.

This transition, however, comes with significant complexity. The foundational technology is so new that most of the infrastructure required to support AI applications is yet to be built. Challenges range from efficiently accessing models and routing prompts to the best-suited tools, to addressing critical security, performance and cost concerns. Without resolving these challenges, AI adoption will hit a bottleneck, making it difficult to unlock its full business potential.

Enter Tomas and Eimantas, seasoned entrepreneurs with a track record of building category-leading companies and firsthand experience navigating the intricacies of deploying AI at scale. With their new venture, nexos.ai, they aim to simplify the complexity, offering enterprises a streamlined path to scalable AI deployment. Known for their ability to tackle complex problems with elegant, user-friendly solutions, this might be their most impactful innovation yet.

This is an extraordinary team with a unique blend of ambition, execution power and pragmatism honed during many years of building businesses together. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Tomas and Eimantas.

THE DETAILS

As companies race to integrate AI capabilities, they face mounting complexity in managing multiple AI models, controlling costs, and ensuring reliable performance. nexos.ai has solved this problem by building an AI operating system for enterprises, enabling them to harness and deploy hundreds of AI models through a single, seamless platform.

The idea emerged from co-founder Tomas Okmanas’ firsthand experience, where he struggled to integrate AI across several companies he was involved with – despite spending over $100k per month on large language models (LLM) usage in some cases. Conversations with other companies revealed the same pattern: businesses were eager to deploy AI, but lacked the infrastructure to create high-quality, secure, flexible and cost-effective applications at scale.

“Companies know that AI is an operational and competitive necessity, but they’re drowning in the challenges of managing multiple models, controlling costs and ensuring accurate and reliable performance,” he explains. “At the same time, AI models are becoming increasingly autonomous and capable of handling complex tasks with minimal human intervention. We’ve built nexos.ai to be the enterprise-grade platform that makes working with AI as intuitive as working with human teams – providing the infrastructure and oversight to make sure these models perform at their best while remaining cost-effective and secure.”

The nexos.ai platform will launch in Q1 2025, and is already being tested by several major international companies for use cases such as automated customer support. It provides access to over 200 AI models from leading providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta. Key capabilities include:

  • Smart model routing and load balancing to optimize performance and costs
  • Intelligent caching that can significantly reduce costs for repeated queries
  • Comprehensive monitoring and analytics for AI operations
  • Enterprise-grade security and compliance controls
  • Automated performance optimization across model providers

nexos.ai was co-founded in late 2024 by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, the co-founders of several successful businesses, including Nord Security (valued at $3 billion), Hostinger, Oxylabs and Tesonet (a Lithuanian-based incubator).

Emerging from stealth, it has announced $8 million in funding led by Index Ventures, with participation from Creandum and Dig Ventures. The round also attracted investment from prominent angels, including Olivier Pomel (CEO of Datadog), Sebastian Siemiatkowski (CEO of Klarna) through Flat Capital, Ilkka Paananen (CEO of Supercell) and Avishai Abrahami (CEO of Wix.com).
