DevOps Engineer

Position Purpose

Our service is only as good as the infrastructure behind it. You will be part of the team responsible for the planning, design, building, and operation of our fast-growing SaaS infrastructure. You will own our existing virtualization platform and have an understanding of continuous integration, automation of software build/deployment processes, and “Infrastructure as Code”.WHAT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BEPlan, design, and build out our SaaS infrastructure systems for long-term growth and managementDevelop and deploy security policies to internet-facing and internal systemsPerform system troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex problemsMonitor and improve system performance through kernel and file system tuningRecommend budgets and research and evaluate new hardware and softwareAnalyze system usage; investigate opportunities for performance improvementInvestigate and thoroughly understand developments as they relate to virtualization, automation, and other areas related to building and managing scalable infrastructureWHAT YOU NEEDBachelor's degree in CS or related field; six to ten years related experience or equivalentAbility to translate business needs into a functional architecture and design Proficient with Ubuntu Linux, Puppet, and scripting skills beyond Bash (Python and/or Ruby are good)Understanding of different virtualization architectures (KVM, VMWare)Experience with different storage platforms (EMC, NetApp, etc.)In-depth experience with MySQLAbility to work with Nagios-based monitoring systemsExperience with VoIP systems such as FreeSWITCH and KamailioExperience with GitTHINGS WE CAN’T DO WITHOUTA passion for learning and continuous improvementAbility to tackle the design challenges that come with large scale, global infrastructureExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and workflow while meeting deadlinesWork both independently and within the teamA SAMPLE OF WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DOIn 3 months, you will have:Taken a leadership role for the direction of the virtualization platformBe able to troubleshoot advanced problems with the platform and servicesIncreased the level of automation across the infrastructureIn 6 months, you will have:Delivered a 6 month/1 year/3 year roadmap for the virtualization platformCompletely understood the technical architecture of FuzeBox servicesIn 12 months, you will have:Delivered on the 6 month roadmapBegun work on moving to our next-generation virtualized infrastructureWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HEREYou'll work with the best and brightest at a dynamic, high-potential startup, in a super collaborative environment where every opinion matters.
