Senior Network Engineer

Position Purpose

A real time cloud based collaboration experience is only as good as the service supporting it. As a Senior Network Engineer at Fuze you will take the lead in the design, build out and operation of our next generation datacenter networks.WHAT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BEDesign, deploy and operate network infrastructure including automation for all fuze.com production data center networksPlanning and building automated network deployment infrastructure, design and implement both physical and virtual network environments.Providing input into long-range networking requirements planning focusing on automation and improving the performance and reliability of the networkPartner with Engineering and Operations team members to design next generation features and their impact on the network.Formulating and implementing standards related to network hardware with respect to monitoring and management.Act as an escalation point for architectural issues with our Network Operations team.WHAT YOU NEEDCS degree or equivalent experienceStrong networking knowledge, CCIE/JNCIE a plus5-10 years experience network engineering in a SaaS provider environmentProblem resolution and root cause analysis skillsScripting skills in Python, Ruby or equivalent interpreted language as well as experience working with APIs and data transport and serialization formats such as SOAP, XMLRPC, REST, JSON, XML, YAML a big plusExperience with the automated deployment of network infrastructure - routers, switches, load balancers, etc. - in a high-availability environmentUnderstanding of routing and network protocols (BGP, OSPF, ARP, VRRP, DHCP, TCP, UDP), and proper handling of real time transport protocols using QoS.Deep knowledge of Linux including command-line interfaces, configuration, daemons, shells, and processes.Strong familiarity with cutting edge network technology, such as virtualization and SDNs and how they relate to data center network designStrong interpersonal and communications skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customers or client audiences to professional peers, and working closely with management.A SAMPLE OF WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DOIn 3 months, you will have:Build a long term strategy plan and roadmap for the Fuze networkExpand existing data center footprint within existing datacenters as well as to new global sitesValidate existing network designsIn 6 months, you will have:Automate server provisioning on switches and firewallsBuild new tools to improve network monitoring and visibilityWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HEREYou'll work with the best and brightest at a dynamic, high-potential startup, in a super collaborative environment where every opinion matters.
